Most people who know me think I'm a just swell normal guy with perhaps some offputting vibes. But I was raised under circumstances that would fuck up most people. Turning out well-adjusted, educated, and starting a stable family all basically started as a rebellious phase. I still am gutter trash deep down, but I've got a wife and a kid now who I somehow support on a single income working 100% from home. I've overcommitted to this bit and there's no going back. I have to "be a sane human" who doesn't "sleep in storage units" now. I've become a man who "updates underwriters" and doesn't "dress like a wizard, cast spells in public parks, and barf on the sidewalk". God help me.

That stuff is behind me, for now. The fact that I'm a bearded recluse in a tower who makes a living staring long and deep into a glowing piece of glass that is slowly driving me insane is pretty cool though

It's sadly the case that Ukraine's allies would rather pull a slow burn on Russia by proxy to try and get it to collapse from inside rather than stand up to them directly.

There are no happy endings on the table at this point, only the choice of when things will become difficult for Europe.

There's also a channel called Reporting from Ukraine that I follow which has allegedly been targeted by Russians to get them demonitized. YouTube is not only abetting Russia, they're actively being victimised as well. Fucking chumps.

    Ever since becoming a parent this kind of tragedy really gets to me. I'm glad I don't have a gun in the house anymore, at least. Consider doing the same, if you've got babies. They can be clever before they're smart, it's not their fault they wanted to impress their friends.

    Trigger locks are laughable, or were when I was researching this. I've left my revolver to family back in the states (as this one cannot be made UK compliant), but I'm still getting good use out of the fingerprint safe I got for it.

    I do miss shooting sometimes, and it was fun to make and test a new cartridge between 45 and 454 Casull, but that's all behind me now.

    I do feel like the media coverage of knife crime is overblown. The violent crime rate here is pretty low, and yet you have to be an adult to buy a seam ripper. Knife sales aren't the reason for rises in violent crime, inequality is. Hopefully we can begin to address that with a new administration.

    The pound weakens a lot, in response to financial crisis, and it hasn't been trending upwards in the long term; crisis is a crucial part of this economic system. I wonder if we could expect the pound to lose its usefulness to billionaires if it sinks below the dollar for good. Sounds doomy, but it could pave the way for an EU re-entry.
