That was about the time we started hearing about bird flu infecting seals, wasn't it? Seems like marine mammals were the bridge species, and then it went from them to cows.

The next jump might be ferrets or mink (I remember from COVID that they have very similar respiratory systems to humans). Or it might just jump over them right to morons drinking raw milk I guess.

There's a very high chance I might find myself in a concentration camp before the end of Biden's next term.

All that's needed is for my red state to declare being trans to be a sex crime, the Supreme Court to decide 5-4 that it's constitutional, and then I'm off to a farm. Biden and his supporters would do literally nothing and just use my internment in a camp as a fundraising pitch.

It's cool how you just take them at their word.

But my point is that none of this is being done efficiently. Instead, middlemen siphon money from the project to pad their pockets and stretch out the timelines for completion. I won't be surprised if some of these projects go over budget, over time, or need additional funding.

Wake me up when these projects complete. Then we can look at how much they really cost and how long it really took and how much they really produce.

The money does not go directly to production, that's the goal post. It goes through a dozen people's hands before the ground is ever broken on one of these projects, and every one of those hands takes their cut to pad their pockets. That was my point.

I don't think my chances are good under either President, but I also think Democrats are more likely to fight back if Trump wins. Trump saw the largest protest movement in American history. If the trans concentration camps happen under him then people will actually fight back. If they happen under Biden then people will just be told to vote harder next time so we can close the concentration camps! 🤮

It wouldn't cause all Democrats to flip on Israel, but a lot of Democrats are only supporting Israel because of inertia. Supporting Israel is just normal, so that's what they do. If Trump were president it would force them to rethink how "normal" their support actually is.

You're underestimating how much Democrats hate Trump. If anything could force them to rethink anything it's agreeing with him.

What I'm also aware of is the fascist march against queer folk in the US has been pushing forward unabated under Biden. No matter who wins we'll probably see the first bans on changing gender on birth certificates, we'll probably see a challenge to gay marriage Court jurisprudence, and we'll probably see hate crimes against us continue to rise to new horrible heights.

Under Trump Dems were out in the streets, but Under Biden all the Dems just sit at home and don't do anything about it. Dems only care about queer folk (and Black people and religious minorities and immigrants) when it's politically convenient.

The US opposes the current coup government, but I don't think they opposed the collapse of the democratic government. They're just unhappy with the current coup regime and want a different one. But, you're right, it's not exactly Jakarta. There are still similarities. They're providing hundreds of millions of dollars of support to groups fighting the civil war, passed a bill in 2022 that allows the President discretion to provide said aid, and the American foreign policy director Derek Chollet met with the National Unified Government's Foreign Minister Zin Mar Aung and several armed group leaders, including representatives from the Kachin Independence Army.

The US's tentacles are all over this.

I'll clarify: what is the actual purpose of giving customers access to this infantile technology? It doesn't make following traffic laws easier like cruise control does, it doesn't make drivers better at driving or safer behind the wheel, and it merely encourages distracted driving.

The problem is that feedback loops start to kick in above 2°C so it doesn't matter if the economy crashes.

In fact, in some cases that makes things even worse. One example is that without smokestacks and ships pumping out sulfur dioxide the albedo of the atmosphere will rapidly drop, which might cause immediate and rapid warming over a period of only a few years.

We could be pushed past 2.5°C or even 3°C without industrial forces contributing at all.

So despite climate change, Australia's federal government has just committed an extra $3.25 billion into building a toll road and a 20-lane freeway widening.

People are asking me to vote for a fucking genocide. They're asking me to vote for children starving to death under rubble, terrified out of their minds after their entire families were murdered before their eyes. They're asking me to vote for children being rounded up into detention centers and having their fucking limbs cut off. They're asking me to vote for the desecration of corpses and the illegal harvest of their skin and organs. They're asking me to vote for the systematic starvation of children and torture of political prisoners

To recognize your own complicity in genocide and recognize the price you should pay for it isn't suicidal, it's political. As if Aaron Bushnell could have called a suicide hotline and felt better about the genocide that's happening with our support. Do you think a concentration camp guard could call a suicide hotline to alleviate their guilt? Do you think the blood on your hands can ever be washed clean?

If it weren't for massive social media outlets like TikTok no one would know or care about the genocide. Israel has always been this way! Israel's plan for the Palestinians has pretty much always been genocide, nothing changed on their end. The only thing that changed is the existence of platforms that aren't under the control of pro-Israel propaganda, so now people are finally seeing the truth. Times have changed.

If it weren't for the access to the truth I don't think Americans would be opposing this genocide, and that's the way the ruling class wants it.
