My UAL / StarAlliance account is 1MM+ of banked miles. I have considered status matching to another carrier whenever anyone runs the EOY promotions. But, between all options, and my home airport of SFO, it's hard to justify a complete change. I have been StarAlliance since I got my first traveling job and flew U.S. Airways to Brazil.

I still prefer UAL and always upgrade to E+ at a bare minimum. Any time I need an airline agent, I usually pop in to the local united club and get anything I need pretty damn quickly.

Good luck on finding a new carrier!
