This seems like it was done by someone who is actively trying to get fired lol

I see you haven't met very many vegans lol

I want one now

I'll take that chicken tikka lasagna too

It's part of the Instagram post linked under the picture

MrJameGumb ,

I can assure you this is not American. If it were I would have had one by now. According to the Instagram link this was found in Iceland.

Also Heinz brand baked beans are British, so I'm assuming that is the country where this masterpiece was created

This would be a lot more appropriate in the Don't Dead - Open Inside community. Doesn't really seem like an aneurysm post

Any idea what happened to the second strawberry pot? ( lemmy.world )

Both pots were started at the same time from the same batch of strawberry starts. They should have the same soil box. Both grew vigorously last spring/summer and got visited by deer in the fall. Both bounced back pretty well before winter set in. The left pot is very happy, the right... Not so much. I do recall the big pot...

I don't have a lot of expertise in this area, but if the only difference is the type of container maybe that has something to do with it? Does one have better drainage than the other possibly?

I need to wake up early ( lemmy.world )

All the vibrating alarm clocks I could find do not sync with your phone, and have to be set manually. I thought about getting an Arduino, but then I will have to build the whole thing by myself. The only logical conclusion I could come up with is to get a programable vibrator. But most of them are either very expensive of look...

MrJameGumb ,

Might be kind of difficult to get to sleep with that inside you...

Unless that's what you're into I guess...

I had never heard of a "sheepfold" before so I looked it up. A sheepfold is just like a sheep pen. Like without a roof and usually just a few feet high. Either the article used the word incorrectly or there is a ton they are leaving out here. Maybe it had something to do with his captors magic spell?

MrJameGumb ,
@MrJameGumb@lemmy.world avatar

I guess I'd put up some tarps to prevent the inevitable blood splatter from staining the walls and floor?

MrJameGumb ,
@MrJameGumb@lemmy.world avatar

WTF is a "moral/spiritual genius"? That doesn't even make sense. It sounds like a title someone just made up for themselves to feel important.

MrJameGumb ,
@MrJameGumb@lemmy.world avatar

If I really think about it, someone who is considered to be an "expert" on morality would be either a philosopher or a religious leader and I doubt either of them would willing to call the other a "genius" since what is considered "morally right" can vary widely between cultures or even between individuals in the same culture as it's a pretty personal thing.

"Spirituality" is such a nebulous term that it could mean almost literally anything and thus is not really quantifiable even in the broadest terms

Quite frankly if I met someone who claimed to be a "moral/spiritual genius" I would stay well away from them, because they're either trying to sell you something or trick you into agreeing to something you wouldn't otherwise agree to

@MrJameGumb@lemmy.world avatar

This is either a fake rage baiting troll post, or you're an extremely conceited girl. Either way I can't think of anything I would possibly want to ask you.

If it makes you feel any better, I have a sneaking suspicion that this post was probably actually written by a man in his late 30s who has too much time on his hands

MrJameGumb ,
@MrJameGumb@lemmy.world avatar

I don't think I've ever heard anyone say that lol

MrJameGumb ,

most olives are delicious, I have had certain "fancy" olives that were just awful though

I don't think you're supposed to drink the oil

MrJameGumb ,
@MrJameGumb@lemmy.world avatar

That's just weird... If they thought one bar wouldn't be enough then why not just make the bars bigger? Is it still even a "healthy snack" if you have to cram them down 2 at a time? It reminds me of the time I was checking the info on the back of a packet of Top Ramen and it said it's supposed to be like 2 or 3 servings. Like was I supposed to share it with someone? Lol

MrJameGumb ,
@MrJameGumb@lemmy.world avatar

It wouldn't necessarily have to be double thick, they could just make it longer or wider across or both

MrJameGumb ,
@MrJameGumb@lemmy.world avatar

I grew up in the deep south in the 80s and I'm so glad my parents never forced church on me. We would go on Easter when we visited my grandparents but that was pretty much just to placate them. My dad took me to try out "regular church" maybe 3 or 4 times, but when it was clear I had no interest in it it was never really brought up again lol Even my very religious very conservative sister was saying to me the other day how glad she was that our parents taught us to be our own people and think for ourselves!

MrJameGumb ,

I'd say they both agree on the main point of both philosophies "everyone has to follow every ridiculous rule I come up with except me"

Sorry I'm not overly familiar with custom keyboard types, what exactly is the benefit of this type of layout?

MrJameGumb , (edited )
@MrJameGumb@lemmy.world avatar

I learned to type on a giant clacky qwerty keyboard in highschool in the 90s, this all feels very foreign to me lol

MrJameGumb ,
@MrJameGumb@lemmy.world avatar

It's because we now live in a "post normal" world. Having 5 minutes to just sit and think without being blasted with news about 15 new tragedies is now considered a luxury for the rich. When you're bombarded 24 hours a day with terrible news of a never ending stream of ever more horrible atrocities they all just kind of blur together and turn into background noise.

So to answer your question, people DO still care about human rights, but actually doing anything about it has become a seemingly impossible task due to the sheer volume of awful things going on in the world right now.

MrJameGumb ,
@MrJameGumb@lemmy.world avatar

It looks like it's applying some kind of sharpness adjustment to the zoom. Maybe that's like an "auto enhance" feature you can turn off?

MrJameGumb ,
@MrJameGumb@lemmy.world avatar

Yeah but who wants to carry around a case of lenses for just taking random snapshots on their phone?

MrJameGumb ,
@MrJameGumb@lemmy.world avatar

It sort of defeats the whole purpose of having a camera on your phone if you still have to carry around a camera bag full of lenses though doesn't it?

MrJameGumb ,
@MrJameGumb@lemmy.world avatar

I usually just use the crop feature to zoom in on the picture after I take it and just select the part I wanted. Seems to work pretty well. I have a Motorola that wasn't particularly expensive.

I don't know that I'd even consider this "religious cringe"... That is someone having a mental health emergency. She needs to go to a hospital for her own safety

Could you not just make a second email account that you just use for things like this? Why is the only alternative to use your personal account? It takes like 2 minutes to make an alternate Gmail account lol

Why would eggs make the cat close his eyes?

Did the premise of an entity approaching you only when it's not being viewed originate with Doctor Who's Weeping Angels?

The Weeping Angels apparently originated with Steven Moffat seeing a statue of a weeping angel in a structure in a cemetery and returning later to find out it was gone. At least according to this RadioTimes article. They first appeared in 2007 in the episode Blink....
