Netflix has managed to annoy a good number of its users with an announcement about an upcoming update to its Windows 11 (and Windows 10) app: support for adverts and live events will be added, but the ability to download content is being taken away....
who the hell would ever use the Netflix windows app? And for that matter, at this late date, who the hell is still paying for Netflix to actually watch what little is still on there?
but had our critical thinking skills to varying levels stunted by shitty education.
I've also noticed that everyone I went to school with who got good grades is a dunce. But everyone who got shitty grades with me was much easier to talk to.
I never have to explain in verbose detail what I mean by every fragment of a sentence to someone who got shitty grades in school. I had a principal at one school I went to who was an idiot.
Every time another group of students stole my hat and there was a coordinated effort to keep it away from me, I had no choice but to go to the principal, because the teachers wouldn't help me either.
Every single time this happened, the principal, with zero self awareness would say "what do you mean ____ stole your hat? did you give it to him?" Then I had to explain in vivid detail each thing that happened for 15 minutes, like I was programming a robot-arm in a factory to this idiot with no ability to listen and think.
George Carlin used to rant about how schools teach kids to just barely be smart enough to pull levers and push buttons, but never to critically think about things or to solve problems they don't have a pre-planned solution for. and that's why I hated going to school, as high functioning autistic man, when I was in school, they always wanted me to fit into a cookie-cutter path they set for me, but I never went along with it.
This one boomer I know refuses to ever use anything except for the official tool you're supposed to use for each thing. So I ask him, "well if this other pair of plyers does the job, why can't I just use this one if I can make it work.?" "IT'S NOT MEANT FOR THAT!" with no good reason for not wanting me to help him by using that other pair of plyers that I can make work.
I quit high school about half way through my 10th grade year one day when literally everyone in the school yelled at me when I tried to talk about literally anything. I just got my stuff out of my locker and walked home.
Weird how only the most resource-rich countries in africa are the ones going through so much shit, and it's weird how they're all ruled by dictators, I wonder how those positions were given to those people.
On another note! tech companies got a whole bunch of new supplies to make batteries and circuit boards! and jewelry companies have more diamonds to sell! And oil companies have more oil to turn into gas and diesel.
EA has tried this before, with predictable results. In 2020, EA Sports UFC 4 included full-screen ads for the Amazon Prime series The Boys that would appear during 'Replay' moments. These were absent from the game when it launched, with EA introducing the ads about a month later, thereby preventing them from being highlighted in...
When Bloomberg reported that Spotify would be upping the cost of its premium subscription from $9.99 to $10.99, and including 15 hours of audiobooks per month in the U.S., the change sounded like a win for songwriters and publishers. Higher subscription prices typically equate to a bump in U.S. mechanical royalties — but not...
"but if we pirate things the singers won't get anything!"
yeah, fuck the music companies and fuck the movie companies. The moral thing to do is to pirate everything you want to watch, read and listen to.
the actors, writers and singers and everyone working behind the scenes are already getting next to nothing for their hard work compared to what the executives at all those corporations are getting for just sitting on their asses.
....sorry I blacked out, what were we talking about?
You should never pirate anything! that would be bad!
but I don't want robots to be a thing. And I don't want autistic people to be viewed as some kind of tool for the billionaires to get richer
A lot of shitty video game companies and other billion dollar corpos are looking for autistic people to hire because they're less likely to complain about not getting a good wage or about working extortionary long hours under threat of being fired.
I don't care what your race, gender, disability or whatever is. the minimum wage should be higher than the cost of living and everyone deserves an equal piece of the profits of a company they work for on top of getting a living wage and benefits. For the executives that contribute nothing, that means a lot less money, for the people who actually work at the company, that means a lot more.
If you devote your time to the operation of a business, you deserve to be paid and to be paid well.
Any company that wants to take advantage of autistic people not being informed about their rights as a worker should be broken up and the executives should be put in stockades in a public square.

Oh no! Our poor sensitive little eyes might be offended by something we see! I need a nanny-state to go through everything I have access to so I don't get confused!
If I got offered a free vacation? somewhere in Alaska and I'd never post pictures that could potentially lead to revealing my real identity online anyway
Okay...the video game industry is going to crash any day now.
They keep raising prices, lowering quality, abusing their devs and now they're also making everything more restrictive. And There's also several games out there that require you to disable your core isolation to install them.
If it won't run with core isolation enabled, it's malware. That's the rule every windows user needs to start following.
Or maybe put it on one of those super low-to-the-ground tables that they have in some places in Japan where you kneel at the table instead of sitting at it.
and the pedestrian-emergency-break on tesla cars, and many other cars with that feature will malfunction sometimes causing people behind you to rear-end you.
infinite possibilities. For every Me that died, there's infinite more that are still kicking.
So any of the wives of the Mes from alternate universes that have the ability to universe hop and still want to be with My version of Me would make their way here to this universe....I'd need to get a bigger house though.
Use Mullvad, iVPN or Proton and they really won't see what you're doing
with Mullvad and iVPN, be sure to use the quantum encryption. And to help obscure your traffic with proton, be sure to use a proxy that has around 50% to 60% usage. That way anyone who tries to use a quantum computer to break the encryption on a proton VPN proxy is going to see everyone else's traffic using that proxy as well as you. There would be a lot of shit to go through even if they use a quantum computer.
the IP address of your modem? Well your ISP will easily be able to tell whether or not you're using a VPN. And I guess at that level if someone used a quantum computer on your modem's connection from the modem to the proxy, then yeah, they'd probably be able to evesdrop as long as they have access to the lines from your house to the hub of your local ISP and the VPN you're using doesn't have quantum-safe encryption.
If you're in a position where you'd need to worry about a corporation or government using a quantum computer to get into your shit you've got bigger problems.
From what I understand, it requires a fuck-ton of electricity to run a quantum PC and they'd need to use even more electricity on top of that to keep it cool in a refrigerated room at sub-zero temperatures.
But that's only what all the tech-companies making them are currently saying. There's probably more advanced stuff that they're keeping secret. We'll never know until another whistleblower sacrifices their entire life to tell the world about it.

A lot of people still think autism means "mentally handicapped"
It's important to understand this nuance. Some autistic people are also mentally handicapped, but most autistic people are like what you see above. Where almost no one can tell unless they know what signs to look for.
I did really bad in school, but most people seem to think I'm smart. I did notice that all my classmates who did really well in school were really dumb, I had to explain every implicit statement in verbose detail to them, but all my classmates that got shitty grades along with me were very easy to communicate with.
